Blocking Software

Blocking software is a third party computer programme that limits access to websites or other services available over the internet.

There are two kinds of blocking software generally available:

1. General blocking software, which is designed to block any sites you want and set access permissions or parental controls:

2. Gambling-specific blocking software, which is designed to block gambling websites.

These are non-exhaustive examples of blocking software which are generally available on the web. Whilst such software can be a useful tool to control access to gambling sites, should you choose to make use of it, you should note that:-

  • Your use of that product will be subject to the terms of use set by the third party provider, and your “contract” to use that product will be between you and the third party provider (not Genting) and (in some instances) a fee may be charged for use;
  • We simply make you aware of the availability of such products as a useful tool that you may wish to investigate or use. However, we are not responsible for the operation or functioning of those products nor by advising you of their existence do we assume any such responsibility.

There are now a number of Banks which have the ability for you as a customer to block any gambling transactions; this is done via the Bank blocking the specific merchant codes associated to gambling transaction. Please consult with your Bank for further information.
